  • When is this movie going to be released all over rather than limited?
I do not know what the film's distributor's have planned. I guess we'll all just have to watch and wait for more information.

  • What are the songs in the movie?
    Wally says:
"The Killing Moon" by Echo & the Bunnymen
"Head Over Heels" by Tears for Fears
"Notorious" by Duran Duran"Love Will Tear Us Apart" by Joy Division
"Under the Milky Way Tonight" by The Church

  • Is the score available (on CD or Mp3)?
    Lane Kelly says:
I'm almost positive they have a soundtrack deal. When it comes out, I don't know. Richard did do a video for the Mad World remake. Who knows if it will ever see the light of day on MTV or VH-1.
The DD Mailing List reported that the CD will be released in December 2001, and they're already working on a DVD.

  • Can you tell me the name of the song with which the movie opens and who sings it?
INXS - Never Tear Us Apart
The final cut has The Killing Moon by Echo and the Bunnymen instead.

  • Who wrote the music in the trailer?
The music in the trailer is Michael Andrews' original score from the film.

  • Who did the "Mad World" song that's playing during the credits?
Richard Kelly says: "[T]he cover of 'Mad World' is performed by Gary Jules and Michael Andrews. Michael Andrews is the composer of the score for 'Donnie Darko'. "

  • I heard that Donnie Darko is coming to the theaters, is this true? If so whats the date?
The film will be released in the US by Newmarket on October 26, 2001.

  • Do you have an address of the production company?
I think it's called Darko Productions, and is somewhere in the LA area.

  • Will Jake Gyllenhaal be able to finish filming his role in time to return to college for his junior year in September?
I would assume so, since they have at least a month before most universities will begin classes again. Filming on a drama that doesn't have a whole lot of special effects generally doesn't take too long. It can be done in less than a month, if necessary.

  • How big is Alex's role? Does he play a part in the love interest part?
So far, not much is known about Alex' role, other than that he bullies the titular character, who just happens to have a 'love interest.'

  • Can I have ------'s e-mail address?

        NO.
